With Scotch Universe, he takes you on a journey of taste – as complex and fascinating as space. On the flight path lie distilleries from all regions of Scotland, which offer hand-picked single malts or single grains. Some of them are smoky and stormy like a collision of stars. Others are calm and balanced like the dark side of the moon. All named after celestial phenomena.
Color spectrums, dazzling light or dense darkness: discovering the Scotch Universe can feel like looking through a telescope into unexplored worlds. And just like these, the brand’s whiskies do not reveal all their secrets. The fact is: All come from carefully selected barrels bottled separately in Scotland, are neither chill-filtered nor colored and have a high, cask-strength alcohol content. In addition, the label with coordinates leaves plenty of room for speculation and a spirit of discovery.
With the Gravity I1 from Scotch Universe, the druid takes off into grain spheres. After 25 years in the first fill bourbon hogshead, the Highlander sends out signals characterized by lush vanilla and banana.

The independent bottlers at Murray McDavid see themselves as masters of cask finishing, which they impressively demonstrate with this single malt distilled in 2015. The spirit comes from a distillery steeped in tradition near the River Findhorn, whose name is closely linked to the juniper bush and which is one of the pioneers of the single malt world. After eight years of maturation, completed by a complex finish in port, Madeira and Barolo casks, the spirit presents itself in a natural, deep copper colour. With a limited edition of 1602 bottles, this whisky remains an exclusive puzzle for discerning explorers. On the nose, an elegant interplay of dark fruit, creamy malt notes and fine nougat praline unfolds. On the palate, at a powerful 53,5 % vol, the bottling shows its full intensity: rich notes of fruit cake and red berries meet dark chocolate and the subtle spice of candied ginger. The finish is long and full of character, marked by savoury caramel, fresh walnuts and a pinch of black pepper that blends harmoniously with the gentle oak spice. This 2016 Glencada was bottled in 2026 exclusively for Kirsch Import’s 50th anniversary. The whiskey was aged for 10 years in first-fill bourbon barrel No. 2591 and bottled at a cask strength of 62.4%.

Nc’nean is Annabel Thomas’s dream come true: a modern, sustainable whiskey distillery in Scotland. Distillation has been underway on the coast of the Morvern Peninsula since 2017. The whiskey is made from organically grown Scottish barley in a distillery powered entirely by renewable energy. It is bottled in the UK’s first fully recycled clear glass bottle. “Made by nature, not by rules” is the motto of one of the few women-led whiskey distilleries in the world.
