This exceptional whiskey was crafted under strict organic standards at the remote Nc’nean Distillery, located on the rugged coast of Morvern. Distilled in August 2017 from organically grown barley, this single malt matured for over eight years in a single Oloroso sherry butt. This exclusive bottling, released to mark Kirsch Import’s 50th anniversary, underscores the distillery’s commitment to sustainability, combining traditional craftsmanship with a modern appreciation for nature in a distinctive, dark glass bottle.
With a robust cask strength of 59.4% vol., this whiskey boasts a deep amber hue achieved entirely without the use of colorants. On the nose, opulent notes of rich Christmas cake and dried Medjool dates unfold immediately, accompanied by a delicate, ethereal spiciness. On the palate, a rich, almost creamy texture emerges, where the dark sweetness of the sherry blends with the aroma of candied oranges and a hint of cocoa to create a complex, intense experience.

At the Nc’nean distillery in the Highlands, they follow the path of Neachneohain, the Gaelic queen of spirits and guardian of nature. For the ‘Malted Teacake’ edition, a special Belgian ale yeast was used, which lends the distillate an exceptional malty depth. Maturation took place in a precise blend of 56% STR wine casks, 42% ex-bourbon barrels and a small proportion of Oloroso sherry casks, which gives the organic barley a complex, structured aroma.
