Like the classic Sanaig, the exclusive Kilchoman Sanaig matured mainly in Oloroso sherry casks, but was bottled at natural cask strength of 57.5 % Vol. Instead of adding water, this Sanaig was created at natural cask strength. The result is an intense combination of rich peat smoke, cinnamon sweetness and stewed stone fruit, spices and dark chocolate.

Following the great success of the Sanaig Cask Strength debut in 2024, Kilchoman presents the second edition of the Kilchoman Sanaig 'Dark Batch' at cask strength. With Sanaig Cask Strength, Kilchoman presents its iconic sherry edition as a strictly limited bottling at natural cask strength, an exceptional Islay single malt that is sure to delight lovers of sherry and intense peat in particular.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: rich sherry infused smoke, sultanas, red berries, and orange zest.
Palate: dark chocolate, sticky raisins, with notes of sticky BBQ smoke and sweetness.
Finish: ashy smoke with waves of sweetness and rich spices.

The whisky matured for over 13 years in a fresh bourbon cask and was bottled at a cask strength of 53.8%. The cask yielded a total of 235 bottles. On the palate, this whisky exhibits intense peat notes, toffee, smoke, and a pleasant spice.
