In 2005, Anthony Wills opened Kilchoman, the first new whisky distillery on Islay in 124 years. It lies in the north-west of the island on a former agricultural estate, Rockside Farm. Its whisky is the only one allowed to call itself "100% Islay", as all ingredients are produced and all production steps carried out on site. It is the only Islay distillery not located directly by the sea.

Nestled between sweeping sandy beaches and the rugged beauty of Islay lies the Kilchoman farm distillery. For the inaugural release of the Family Collection, each individual expression was personally selected by the five members of the founding family. The series comprises four limited, curated cask compositions drawn from rare single casks.
This bottling is a 14-year-old Rockside Barley edition, distilled in 2011 from barley grown on Kilchoman’s own Rockside Farm and malted on-site. It has a phenol content of 20 ppm.

Like the classic Sanaig, the exclusive Kilchoman Sanaig matured mainly in Oloroso sherry casks, but was bottled at natural cask strength of 57.5 % Vol. Instead of adding water, this Sanaig was created at natural cask strength. This Kilchoman 2019 matured for over 5 years in a port quarter cask. The whisky was bottled exclusively for the stop of the Kilchoman European Tasting Tour 2026 at Flickenschild in Itzehoe. In total, the quarter cask yielded 126 bottles at 56,2%.

This small batch bottling consists of two Oloroso sherry butts that matured for over 13 years and were bottled exclusively for the German market. These are two of the few unpeated casks produced by the distillery.

This Kilchoman 2010 was bottled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Hanseatic Wine Trading Company. The whisky matured for over 13 years in a fresh bourbon cask and was bottled at a cask strength of 53.8%. The cask yielded a total of 235 bottles. On the palate, this whisky exhibits intense peat notes, toffee, smoke, and a pleasant spice.
