This bottling is a limited whisky from the Ardnamurchan Distillery that received a finish of over a year in Champagne Paul Launois barriques and was bottled at 50%. The release is limited to 15,000 bottles in total.
Tasting notes:
Nose: The nose opens with an overtly tropical offering; replete with ripe mangoes, pineapple cubes, lots of honey. There are baked bananas, brown sugar, figs, and wine gums. With time, we go a little deeper into darker tones of crème caramel, toffee, and meringues with white chocolate.
Palate: Oh, hello there, waxiness! The theme of honey continues, backed up by linseed oil, warming spices, gingerbread, fresh pineapple, and cedar. Oily, waxy, showing great depth!

Ardnamurchan is a distillery in the western Highlands with a history that is in parts very complex. It was originally founded and run by Charles and David Gray in Glasgow in 1826. After years of ups and downs, the distillery was finally closed and dismantled in 1968. The story of today's distillery begins in 1993 with the descendants of the original founders, who decided to become an independent bottler under the Adelphi label. In 2007 they decided to reopen the distillery, only this time in the western Highlands. Single malt has been flowing from its stills since 2014, and more and more bottlings are seeing the light of day.

4cl sample of the Highland Park 1999 Best Dram #5537 - 55,7% Refill Oloroso Sherry Butt Founded in 1798, the Highland Park distillery in Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands is Scotland's northernmost distillery. Thanks to its special location, and in particular Orkney peat, which differs considerably from Islay peat, the whisky has a distinctive flavour. One of its core aromas is the much-quoted “heather honey sweetness”. The water comes from a lower-lying spring, Cattie Maggie's Quarry.

4cl sample of the Mortlach 2007 Kirsch Dragon - 56,6% First Fill Bolgheri #102 Mortlach is the oldest distillery in Dufftown, the centre of Speyside. It was founded in 1823 on the banks of the Dullon, but draws its water from the Conval Hills. Its whisky is distilled in a special process using six stills, one of which bears the lovely name "wee witchy", little witch.

It is located in Minmore near Ballindalloch in Speyside. The current distillery site has existed since 1858, and in 1880 the distillery won the right in court to put “The” in front of its name. Today it is owned by Pernod Ricard.

At the foot of Scotland's highest mountain, Ben Nevis in the western Highlands near Fort William, lies the distillery of the same name. It was built in 1825 by John McDonald, a descendant of the Lord of the Isles. Production was halted between 1984 and 1990; after the takeover by Nikka in 1989, production resumed a year later. The water for Ben Nevis comes from the Allt A Mhullin Burn.

The Octomore distillery was founded in 1816 by George Montgomery in Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. In 1852, Thomas Pattison took over the distillery, which was closed later that same year. In 2008, Bruichladdich had plans to reopen Octomore, but these plans were never realized. However, since 2008, Bruichladdich has been bottling a heavily peated single malt under the name “Octomore.”

The Bruichladdich distillery on Islay, whose name means “corner of the beach,” was built in 1881 by the Harley brothers. After the distillery had been closed for some time, it was announced on December 20, 2000, that it would soon resume operations. As early as May 2001, the first newmake flowed from the stills. Bruichladdich's success is closely linked to the work of one of the most influential figures in the Scottish whiskey scene—Jim McEwan. In 2012, the distillery changed hands again for 58 million pounds. The current owner is Remy Cointreau.
