Bruichladdich 29 Years Black Art 10.1 - 45,1%
A mysterious work of art from the symbiosis of nature, craftsmanship and time. What is inside each
Barrels happened in the dark of the warehouses remains a mystery. Black Art 10 is the expression of these unfathomable processes. The rare casks all date from the time before the Bruichladdich distillery reopened and therefore matured on the Hebridean island of Islay for almost three decades before they were secretly married by head distiller Adam Hannett.
Only Adam knows what went into creating this precious 29-year-old single malt. He enjoys full trust and complete freedom. Barley, cask types and composition remain his secret. True to the motto “no rules, no restrictions”, Black Art 10.1 is unique and unrepeatable. Unpeated and matured in the finest oak, this tenth edition of Black Art is a perfect fusion of confidence and creativity.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Warm and inviting with notes of toasted oak, chocolate, cedar, leather and some cinnamon and clove. The elegant fruitiness is reminiscent of sweet apricot jam, ripe melon, and cherries
Black Currants. The finale is a trio of refreshing citrus scents with honey-dipped ones
Gooseberries, floral notes (geranium and honeysuckle) as well as masculine iodine and leather aromas.
Flavour: Malt sugar, ginger biscuits and lemon tart with meringue topping. Here, too, you can see the preserved apricots, but garnished with nutty marzipan. The toasted oak brings out aromas reminiscent of chocolate, vanilla and fruit in syrup. Raisins, plums and melons complete the fruit basket. After a while, iodine, coconut with spicy ginger and cinnamon come to mind. The texture appears incredibly soft and velvety.

Product information "Bruichladdich 29 Years Black Art 10.1 - 45,1%"
The Islay Bruichladdich Distillery, whose name means 'beach corner', was built in 1881 by the Harley brothers. After the distillery had been closed for some time, it was announced on 12/20/2000 that it would soon be back in operation. Already in May 2001 the first new make flowed from the stills. The success of Bruichladdich is closely linked to the work of one of the most important men in the Scottish whiskey scene - Jim McEwan. In 2012 the distillery changed hands again for £58m. Current owner is Remy Cointreau.
In 2003 we received organic barley from Mid Coul Farm for the first time. With their manageable
2,755 acres and a highly progressive approach to absolute biodiversity, soil regeneration and an in-house energy production, recycling and fertilization concept, it is the ideal partner for our Organic Single Malt. The Rose family have been running Mid-Coul Farm in the north of Scotland since 1912. Their way of growing organic barley is based on the combination of using the latest technology and the knowledge and awareness of their ancestors with regard to an optimal balance between nature and people - i.e. cultivation without artificial fertilizers or pesticides. The most important thing for successful organic farming is to avoid monocultures. That is why our organic barley is grown alternately with other raw materials and is therefore not ready for harvest every year. Soil, climate and precipitation have an impact on taste. The result is the
pure expression of the terroir in which the plant was allowed to grow. Slowly distilled and matured on Islay, our organic is a single malt that, like no other, is able to combine the past and the future, people and nature in an enjoyable way, a real enrichment in our Bruichladdich Barley Provenance series.
