Glenfarclas
We have a very friendly relationship with the Glenfarclas distillery and especially with George Grant. Glenfarclas, which translates as “valley of the green grassland”, was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and bought by John Grant in 1865. To this day the distillery belongs to the Grant family, who, with great foresight and consistency, regularly offer outstanding single casks and special releases alongside the standard bottlings. It is no coincidence that we have personally selected several Glenfarclas casks and had them bottled under our name. The tastings in Itzehoe with George Grant of the owning family have been among our highlights since 2006. The mainly oloroso sherry casks give Glenfarclas its special aromas, prized by whisky lovers all over the world.
The Glenfarclas 105 is bottled at 60% vol. and impresses with its strong sherry notes and wonderfully integrated alcohol. This limited edition was bottled in 2023 and allowed to mature for over 16 years.

With the Christmas Malt Edition, Glenfarclas presents a special bottling each year that was distilled during the Christmas season. This single malt was distilled on 17 December 2007 and then matured in a 2nd fill Oloroso sherry butt in the traditional dunnage warehouse. Together with Distillery Manager Callum A Fraser, cask 2671 was selected because it combines notes of toffee and warming spice reminiscent of Christmas aromas. This edition was bottled at natural cask strength and, of course, has no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered.
