We have a very friendly relationship with the Glenfarclas Distillery and, in particular, with George Grant. Glenfarclas, which means “Valley of the Green Grasslands,” was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and purchased in 1865 by John Grant. To this day, it remains in the hands of the Grant family, who, with great foresight and consistency, continually offer outstanding single casks and special editions in addition to their standard bottlings. So it’s no coincidence that we’ve already had the privilege of personally selecting several Glenfarclas casks and bottling them under our own name. Since 2006, the tastings in Itzehoe featuring family member George Grant have been among our highlights. The Oloroso sherry casks, which are primarily used, give Glenfarclas its very special aromas, prized by whiskey connoisseurs around the world.

This 1994 Glenfarclas Single Cask Whisky is a Summer 2023 release from the Family Casks series. The single malt was aged from 1994 to 2023 in Sherry Butt 2958. The Glenfarclas was bottled at cask strength, 53.6 percent by volume. It is limited to 472 bottles.

This 2015 Glenfarclas was aged in First-Fill Sherry Butt No. 7. It was bottled in August 2026 for the newly founded Local Dealer Community (an association of German brick-and-mortar specialty retailers). In total, the cask yielded 667 bottles at 57.0%, which were distributed among the 24 members.

This Glenfarclas 2009 was bottled from a first-fill sherry butt for the distillery’s Family Cask series. Cask number 1118 yielded a total of 639 bottles at 60.3% ABV. On the palate, the whisky impresses with typical sherry aromas, a gentle spiciness, subtle vanilla, and light nutty notes.

This Glenfarclas 2010 was bottled from a first-fill sherry butt for the distillery’s Family Cask series. Cask number 531 yielded a total of 647 bottles at 59.2% ABV. On the palate, the whisky impresses with typical sherry aromas, a gentle spiciness, subtle vanilla, and light nutty notes.

With the Christmas Malt Edition, Glenfarclas presents a special bottling each year that was distilled during the Christmas season. This single malt was distilled on 17 December 2007 and then matured in a 2nd fill Oloroso sherry butt in the traditional dunnage warehouse. Together with Distillery Manager Callum A Fraser, cask 2671 was selected because it combines notes of toffee and warming spice reminiscent of Christmas aromas. This edition was bottled at natural cask strength and, of course, has no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered.

This Glenfarclas is a single cask bottling from the Family Cask series, from the Summer 2018 batch. The whisky matured in 4th fill hogshead number 747.

This Glenfarclas is a single cask bottling from the Family Cask series, Summer 2024 release. The whisky matured in sherry butt number 1117.

Distilled in 2014, the casks were matured in the distillery’s traditional Dunnage Warehouses. You can expect a full-bodied, amber-coloured single malt whisky with complex sherry aromas, pronounced fruity notes, dark chocolate and Demerara sweetness on the finish.
