Balblair
Balblair lies on the old A9 not far from Glenmorangie and therefore belongs to the northern Highlands. There are reports that whisky was already being produced on the site of today's distillery in 1790 or even 1749. The roots of Balblair date back to 1841. The water comes from the Ault Dearg Burn, and the malt used is sourced from the Glen Ord Maltings.
The 12-year-old Balblair is aged in former bourbon barrels and double-burned American white oak barrels. These barrels give it an aroma of lemon peel with creamy vanilla and green apple.

The 18-year-old Balblair matured in former bourbon casks and Spanish first fill butts. Its nose is distinguished by pear and caramel. A citrus fruitiness combined with vanilla notes is particularly present on the palate. The finish brings out Balblair's long staying power, which shows itself in a spicy fullness.
