The distillery Balblair is located next to the old A9 not far away from Glenmorangie and belongs to the northern Highlands. There are narrations which say that at the location of the distillery there already has been produced whisky in 1790 or even 1749. The first notes are dated 1841. The water that is used comes from the Ault Dearg Burn, the used malt from the Glen Ord Maltings.
