Auchroisk

The distillery lies near Mulben close to Keith and belongs to Speyside. Opened in 1974, it is one of the younger and more modern distilleries in Scotland and belongs to Diageo. Auchroisk has no maltings of its own. The malt is sourced externally, is unpeated and is used to make a spirit that often brings some spice and goes primarily into blends (= Justerini & Brooks).

Although the distillery is considered very modern, it is located on an industrial site and does not receive any visitors. With 4 wash stills and 4 spirit stills, it currently produces around 3,100,000 litres of alcohol. As already mentioned, most of this goes into blend production. Auchroisk has no significant official bottlings on the market. The 10-year-old Auchroisk from the Flora & Fauna series is unofficially often regarded as an official bottling. Anyone who still wants to get an idea of the distillery character can turn to various independent Auchroisk bottlings. We have also had the pleasure of counting 2 Auchroisks among our own bottlings.
