In the heart of Grande Champagne, Cognac’s prestigious Premier Cru region, the Ferrand family has been cultivating the Ugni Blanc grape variety on limestone-rich soils for ten generations. This Double Cask carries on a historic tradition: After classic distillation in small copper stills, the distillate first ages in French oak barrels before reaching its full potential in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This double aging imparts a special depth and complexity to the brandy, impressively underscoring the legacy of Maison Ferrand.
Shimmering in a deep amber hue, this cognac unfolds a bouquet characterized by roasted hazelnuts, nutmeg, and a subtle hint of cedarwood. On the palate, the full splendor of the PX barrels comes to the fore: sweet maple syrup blends with the aroma of stewed apples, figs, and raisins. A subtle hint of cinnamon and the Rancio Charentais character—typical of high-quality cognacs—round out the tasting experience, while the finish lingers long and elegantly with nuances of vanilla.
