Named after the Gaelic word for "helmsman", this single malt guides you safely through the maritime world of aromas of a distillery that, like hardly any other, stands for the unpeated character of the famous whisky island.

The Bunnahabhain Distillery is located on the Sound of Islay, in the northeastern corner of the island, directly across from the island of Jura—so remote that when it was built in 1881, a long, winding road first had to be constructed down to the sea. The water used to make whiskey—which is relatively low in peat for Islay—comes from an underground spring, the Margadale River. Until 2003, it was owned by the descendants of the founders, Highland Distillers. The current owner is Burn Stewart Distillers.

This Bunnahabhain was bottled for Duncan Taylor’s Single Cask series. It was matured for 15 years in a sherry cask and bottled in January 2024.

“An Cuan Garbh” marks the second chapter in the Westering Home Collection, inspired by the Islay anthem of return and belonging. This first release is finished in white port casks from Portugal’s Douro Valley, it carries the richness of distant shores and the reward of the journey’s end.

This Bunnahabhain 2018 was married from a total of 5 hogsheads and bottled for the Single Malts of Scotland series. The small batch series is bottled at 48%. On the nose, this 6-year-old Bunnahabhain impresses with maritime and smoky aromas, paired with dark chocolate, lime and herbal notes.

The Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2014/2025 impresses with rich peat smoke, delicate vanilla and zesty fruit notes from the bourbon barrel.
