Founded as early as 1794 by the brothers John and Hugh Stevenson, the distillery now lies in the middle of the harbour town of the same name. The water comes from Loch Gleann a’Bherraidh. The distillery is owned by Diageo, and its 14-year-old whisky is one of the six “Classic Malts of Scotland”.
