Dalwhinnie
The distillery lies near the A9 at the turn-off to Fort William in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and was founded in 1897 as “Strathspey”. For a long time it served as a meeting place for smugglers and was of great importance to drovers on their way from the Highlands to the south. At an altitude of almost 330 m, it is one of the highest distilleries in Scotland, is often snowed in during winter and serves as a weather station all year round.
This creamy, mild and beguilingly malty whisky is very approachable. Ideal for experienced connoisseurs as well as newcomers. From nuances of heather to notes of honey, the remarkable variety of its aromas unfolds gradually in the mouth.
