As the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker is inextricably linked to the sea. This single malt owes its exceptional depth to maturation in heavily charred oak barrels. This specific process draws out intense spicy notes and a distinctive sweetness from the wood, which underscore the distillate’s smoky character. The packaging design, featuring a stormy sea motif and a map of the island, reflects the origins of this whiskey, which was created under the theme “Made by the Sea.”
On the nose, a complex bouquet of smoked ham, delicate malt, and a hint of pepper unfolds. On the palate, the amber-colored spirit makes a powerful statement at 45.8% ABV, with the sweetness of honey and vanilla blending with notes of lemon and sour cherry compote. The finish is long-lasting and characterized by roasted nuts as well as the brand’s signature spicy peppery finish.
