The distillery was founded in 1812 by Captain William Fraser, making it one of the oldest distilleries in the world. In 1833, it was appointed the first Royal Warrant holder by King William IV; since then, the malt has also been known as the "King's Whisky."
Crafted with exceptional care, this classic Highland Single Malt is truly unique in quality and flavor. Matured in the finest sherry casks, it develops into a magnificent, rich whisky featuring fruity aromas and subtle spicy notes.

Founded in 1812, the Royal Brackla Distillery became the first Scottish distillery to be granted a Royal Warrant by King William IV in 1833. For this edition in the “Benchmark” series, independent bottler Murray McDavid selected a Highland single malt distilled in 2011 that initially matured in classic sherry casks. It underwent a final finishing period in exclusive barriques from the renowned Bodegas Ximénez-Spínola. This dual maturation in high-quality European oak significantly shapes the character of the limited release—with only 928 bottles available.
On the nose, the honey-hued whisky reveals an inviting bouquet of milk chocolate, walnuts, and fresh cookie dough. On the palate, it makes a bold, full-bodied impression at a robust 57.2% ABV, where creamy malt meets the vibrant fruitiness of red apples and mixed berries. The finish is long-lasting, concluding elegantly with notes of dried cranberries, soft fudge, and a delicate hint of cinnamon pastry.
