Crowdfunded by Canadian single malt and beer enthusiasts, the craft distillery (and brewery) began production on the Pacific island of Vancouver Island in 2016. The heads behind it: three bulkheads. Ex-Diageo Master Distiller Mike Nicolson, the whiskey Einstein Dr. Jim Swan and founder and fermentation expert Dr. Graeme Macaloney. They distill fruity distillates from Canadian barley in Forsyth’s pot stills, which mature in American and European oak in the island's climate. The fact that it only takes 3 years for the complexity and balance of the unadulterated single malts is testimony to recent awards.
