Product information "Linkwood MMcD PX & Oloroso Sherry Finish - 44.5%"
Under the motto “The Art of Maturation,” independent bottler Murray McDavid is dedicated to the careful refinement of distillates with strong character. For this single malt from the Linkwood Distillery, the curators selected a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The original lightness of the spirit—known in Speyside for its floral notes—meets the structure of hogsheads and barriques. The design, featuring a light blue label and a central cask motif, visually underscores the focus on the craft of cask maturation.
The bouquet initially reveals the typical Linkwood aromas of juicy apples and light citrus fruits, underpinned by a subtle hint of walnut and floral notes. On the palate, a creamy texture unfolds, characterized by seductive toffee and chocolate pralines, while the sherry maturation contributes nuances of orange peel and sweet spices. The finish remains smooth and is harmoniously rounded off by a subtle oakiness and a hint of cherry.

More from Linkwood
The first impression belongs to the nose. It is greeted here by a deep, dark fruitiness before the palate tells the story of 15 years of maturation in Spanish oak. This Linkwood from “The Old Friends” is a prime example of how a distinctive cask character and an elegant spirit base can merge into a harmonious whole. The first fill Ribera del Duero barrique shapes this 15-year-old Linkwood. Dark fruit and cocoa give it a seductive note.
