Die Destillerie Glenfarclas wird bereits in der sechsten Generation von der Familie Grant geführt und bewahrt sich so eine Eigenständigkeit, die in der Whiskywelt Seltenheit genießt. Dieser Single Malt reifte in ausgesuchten Sherryfässern, die ihm nicht nur seine natürliche Bernsteinfarbe, sondern auch ein tiefgründiges Profil verleihen. Als der „105“ im Jahr 1968 erstmals erschien, setzte er als einer der ersten Whiskys in Fassstärke einen Meilenstein für Liebhaber kräftiger Destillate.
In der Nase offenbaren sich dichte Aromen von Bratapfel, reifer Birne und einer feinen Sherry-Süße, die an hausgemachte Marmelade erinnert. Am Gaumen entfaltet der Whisky seine volle Präsenz mit Noten von Rosinen, Pfirsich und einem Hauch von Pfefferkuchen, begleitet von einer malzigen Textur. Der Abgang gestaltet sich langanhaltend und würzig, wobei Nuancen von Orangenschalen und gerösteten Nüssen den Abschluss bilden.

The Bruichladdich distillery on Islay, whose name means “corner of the beach,” was built in 1881 by the Harley brothers. After the distillery had been closed for some time, it was announced on December 20, 2000, that it would soon resume operations. As early as May 2001, the first newmake flowed from the stills. Bruichladdich's success is closely linked to the work of one of the most influential figures in the Scottish whiskey scene—Jim McEwan. In 2012, the distillery changed hands again for 58 million pounds. The current owner is Remy Cointreau.
