Glenallachie 10 Years Spanish Oak Wood Finish - 48%

Distilled at the Glenallachie distillery in September 2008, this Speyside single malt matured for over 17 years before being finished by independent bottler Duncan Taylor in June 2026. Its distinctive character stems from a final maturation period in a Pedro Ximénez Octave cask; the significantly smaller volume of these casks increases the contact area between wood and spirit, resulting in an exceptionally rich and intense flavor profile. With a strictly limited release of just 87 bottles and a bottling at a natural cask strength of 55.3% ABV, the authenticity of this craftsmanship is preserved. Visually, the whisky impresses with a deep, dark amber hue, achieved entirely without the use of coloring or chill filtration. The bouquet opens with rich aromas of dark dried fruits, underpinned by sweet maltiness, honey, and a delicate pinch of cinnamon. On the palate, a concentrated syrupy note emerges, paired with the structure of spicy oak and vanilla. The finish is remarkably long and dry, characterized by nuances of coffee and licorice alongside elegant tannins.

The latest release features rare Mongolian oak. Unlike its predecessors, The GlenAllachie 2015/2026 – Sinteis Series Part IV takes a slightly different approach: Instead of blending two separately aged whiskies, Billy Walker first aged the whisky in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks before transferring it to Mongolian virgin oak barrels. These barrels are incredibly rare, as the oak takes over a century to grow, and only trees that have fallen naturally may be harvested. With its dense and fine-grained structure, it imparts delicate notes of light caramel, honey, and floral nuances to the whiskey, which blend with the nutty, dark-fruity, and richly sweet characteristics of the sherry casks.

Bursting with heather honey, toffee and stewed fruit: The GlenAllachie 11 y.o. – Marsala Wood Finish was finished for a full 42 months in Sicilian fortified wine casks. This single malt was bottled exclusively for the UK market and is available here only in limited quantities. As with all the single malts in his aromatic Wood Finish range, Billy Walker collaborated with niche producers for this 11-year-old. In Sicily, he unearthed small quantities of exceptional Marsala casks that complement the GlenAllachie character beautifully. At 48% ABV, uncoloured and non-chill-filtered, it is full-bodied and fruity, pleasantly sweet and velvety smooth.

Founded in 1967 the Glenallachie Distillery was owned by concerns for a logn time. 2017 the distillery was bought by The GlenAllachie Distillers Company. Till this change the distillery produced most of the whisky for blends but now the new owner Billy Walker and his partners Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson use the malt for more distillery bottlings. This ist the start of a new core range and some special distillery bottlings.

This bottling was selected exclusively for the British market. The whisky was given a final maturation in elegant Sauternes wine casks.

This Glenallachie was bottled exclusively for our 120th company anniversary in 2025. Tasting Notes: Nose: Peaches, apricots and heather honey, with treacle, truffle and rich mocha, followed by muscovado sugar. Taste: Fig jam, sugared fruits and warming golden syrup, followed by black cherries, cocoa and toasted cinnamon, with ginger and biscuits.

Cuvée is French and comes from the world of winemaking. Derived from the word “cuve” for vat or tank, it describes the marriage of different wines bottled under one label. In this way, winemakers combine the characteristics and aromas of particular wine regions or grape varieties into a delicious balance. In wine and whisky making alike, the process calls for great finesse. A job for Billy Walker. Billy Walker has already demonstrated his blending artistry, gained over 50 years of experience, several times in the form of whisky cuvées for Kirsch customers. Now the living legend has selected and combined barrels and barriques for The GlenAllachie Cuvée Cask Finish 2012/2023. The single malt first matured in bourbon barrels. For the finish, Billy Walker used various wine casks, namely Pedro Ximenez puncheons, Moscatel barriques and Ruby Port pipes.

The influence of a single Ruby Port Pipe on the single malt from The GlenAllachie is demonstrated by The GlenAllachie 2011/2024 – exclusively for the German market. The twelve-year-old single cask marries characteristic notes of mocha and heather honey with red berries, ginger and strong chocolate at a cask strength of 55.9 per cent by volume and sprinkles blackcurrant cake with cinnamon.

The new Batch 11 continues the bottling success story. The single malt spent a decade in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks as well as barrique barrels pre-filled with red wine and medium-burnt virgin oak casks.

Amontillado sherry begins its life as a fino and undergoes an additional maturation period during which it develops a stronger colour and more robust characteristics. The GlenAllachie 9 y.o. – Amontillado Sherry Finish takes on a hint of dark cherries, roasted hazelnuts and butterscotch thanks to the finish in casks in which this well-matured sherry was previously stored.
