In 1784 it was built as a cotton mill and in 1965/66 reconstructed as a distillery with four stills. Since 1990 Deanston is obtainable as Single Malt and owned by a south american investment company.

This 12 year old Deanston was bottled in November 2024 for the Best Dram series. The whisky matured in a 1st Fill Ruby Port Barrique and has a cask strength of 57.7%. In total, the cask with the number 59 has produced 276 bottles.
Distilled exclusively from Scottish barley and matured in Ruby Port barriques, Deanston 2012/2024 combines deep, complex notes of old port with fine dark chocolate.
