Product information "Ardbeg Dolce - 47.8%"
The name of the Ardbeg distillery means “Little Hill.” It is located on the south coast of the whisky island of Islay, along the route from the port town of Port Ellen to Kildalton. The site of the current distillery was already popular with moonshiners. After a very turbulent history marked by intermittent closures, Ardbeg was acquired in 1997 by Glenmorangie PLC, which was in turn purchased by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy in 2004, and has since become one of Scotland’s most famous distilleries, known for its smoky, peaty, and salty expressions with strong phenolic notes. The distillery’s water comes from Loch Arinambeast and Loch Uigeadail, after which two bottlings are named. In 2015, Ardbeg celebrated its 200th anniversary.
