The distillery lies north of Port Askaig on the Isle of Islay, right on the Sound of Islay. It was built in 1846 and since 1974 has had a completely rebuilt stillhouse expanded to six stills. The distillery, which offers a wonderful view of the Isle of Jura, is now owned by Diageo.
