Duncan Taylor whiskies are based on a collection that is among the largest of its kind. For The Octave, the independent bottler ages selected single and blended malts or single grains for several months in approximately 50-liter Sherry Octave casks, achieving exceptionally refined flavor profiles. Four exclusive single casks provide proof of this – and showcase the series’ refreshed appearance.
A Palo Cortado Sherry Octave refined the sweet, light house style of the Highlands’ only grain distillery: In the Invergordon 2011/2025, creamy caramel and buttermilk meet tropical notes, raisins, and salted almonds.

North British was founded in 1895 by the North British Distillery Company. The distillery operated independently until 1983; today it is part of Diageo. Its production volume is approximately 5 million liters of alcohol per month.

Distilled at the Glenallachie distillery in September 2008, this Speyside single malt matured for over 17 years before being finished by independent bottler Duncan Taylor in June 2026. Its distinctive character stems from a final maturation period in a Pedro Ximénez Octave cask; the significantly smaller volume of these casks increases the contact area between wood and spirit, resulting in an exceptionally rich and intense flavor profile. With a strictly limited release of just 87 bottles and a bottling at a natural cask strength of 55.3% ABV, the authenticity of this craftsmanship is preserved. Visually, the whisky impresses with a deep, dark amber hue, achieved entirely without the use of coloring or chill filtration. The bouquet opens with rich aromas of dark dried fruits, underpinned by sweet maltiness, honey, and a delicate pinch of cinnamon. On the palate, a concentrated syrupy note emerges, paired with the structure of spicy oak and vanilla. The finish is remarkably long and dry, characterized by nuances of coffee and licorice alongside elegant tannins.
