Product information "Glenglassaugh Portsoy - 49,1%"
The Glenglassaugh distillery, located right on the windswept Highland coast, takes its inspiration for this single malt from the neighbouring harbour village of Portsoy. Master Blender Rachel Barrie composed a complex interplay of bourbon, sherry and port casks. The use of peated barley gives the spirit a distinctive depth that harmonises with the maritime climate of the warehouses.
On the nose, you are greeted by a lively sea note that meets sweet, sherry-soaked raisins and candied pineapple. On the palate, at a robust 49.1% vol., Portsoy unfolds an intense texture of dark chocolate and sea salt, accompanied by ripe nectarines and roasted coffee. The finish remains remarkably present, with notes of salty seaweed and subtle oak spice.
This Highland single malt is the perfect choice for connoisseurs who appreciate the interplay of smoke and multi-layered wine cask influences. Whether enjoyed neat or opened up with a few drops of water to further emphasise the complex fruit notes, it is a fascinating companion for special moments. The clear bottle design with its cream-coloured label and deep blue accents underlines the maritime origins of this peated single malt.
