The distillery has the same name like the city it is located next to in the Speyside. It was built in 1898 and often changed its owner during history until today it is hold by Diageo. In 1964 it was extended to having six stills during a renovation.

Brave New Spirits carves its single casks from the Cask Masters range from selected casks with precision and attention to detail – similar to the Japanese paper-cutting technique Kirigami, in the style of which the independent bottler designs the labels. The Glen Elgin 2012/2025 is a round, complex single malt in which the maturation in first fill tawny port wine barriques complements Glen Elgin’s fine fruit and malt flavours.
