The distillery Cragganmore, which means as much as 'big rock', is located between Grantown- on-Spey and Aberlour near Ballingdalloch. John Smith built this distillery in 1870 after he had made experiences at Glenfarclas and Macallan. Since this whisky was popular since the beginning it mainly is used for making blends. Nowadays the Cragganmore distillery belongs to the Diageo imperium.
