Benriach The Twenty Five - 46%

Just a few minutes’ drive south of Linkwood, just outside Elgin, the Benriach 2013/2025 was distilled. After twelve years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels, it developed a complex interplay of aromas including caramelized fruits, warm citrus notes, chocolate, and a finely integrated spice structure.

This 17-year-old Benriach comes from a refill hogshead and was bottled by Thompson Bros in 2024.

This 12-year-old Benriach was bottled by Cadenhead after the whisky matured in Amontillado sherry casks. The whisky has an ABV of 46%. Original Tasting Notes Nose: Foam banana sweets, dates, ginger, heather honey, gorse. Palate: Vanilla custard, beeswax, honeycomb, stewed pears. Finish: Cinnamon rolls, star anise, banoffee pie, tinned peaches.

Using over 40,000 casks from more than 90 different Scottish distilleries, Murray McDavid creates multi-faceted experiences ranging from ‘mystery malt’ to rarity. This bottling is a lively, malty Benriach 2014/2025 from small Koval rye casks.

The distillery Benriach is located south of the city Elgin next to the distillery Longmorn and therefore belongs to the Highlands. It was founded in 1898 and already closed down again in 1900, before it was re-opened not until 65 years later. As one of a few of Scotlands distilleries it has its own malting floors. Since 2008 Glendronach and Glenglassaugh belong to the Benriach Distillery Co. Ltd.

The 16-year-old Benriach “The Sixteen” is the result of a vatting of bourbon barrels, sherry and virgin oak casks. Nose and taste are typically elegant, releasing honey & hazelnut aromas. Green apple, apricot and other ripe fruits are also present.

Distilled in 2011 and then matured in a Ruby Port cask number 2372, this 11 year old Benriach was bottled at cask strength in August 2022 for the Infrequent Flyers series and is limited to 703 bottles.

This special edition was bottled at high strength to give fans of peated whisky an intense and unadulterated experience of its pronounced sweet peat character. Smoke Season is a small-batch release that draws on one of Benriach's traditional, seasonal production techniques. Maturation in American oak casks and bourbon barrels intensifies the toasted sweetness and brings depth and intensity to the smoky-sweet Benriach style. The Benriach distillery lies south of the town of Elgin, right next door to the Longmorn distillery, and therefore belongs to the Highlands. It was founded in 1898, closed again as early as 1900 and not reopened until 1965. It is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that still has its own malting floors today. Since 2008, Glendronach and Glenglassaugh have also been part of the Benriach Distillery Co. Ltd.
