Made from malted barley and triple distilled, this Scottish Auchentoshan combines the distillery's characteristic style with a long maturation in a single sherry hogshead. The Vintage Reserve series continues the legacy of Jack and Wallace Milroy, who opened their whisky shop in London in 1964 and, as pioneers of single malt, brought carefully selected bottlings to Soho. This cask yielded 297 bottles of 0.7 litres each, bottled non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose recalls lemon posset, an English lemon cream, accompanied by dried flowers, honeycomb and fine sherry spice. On the palate, dried fruit meets ripe citrus notes, honeyed sweetness and a hint of vanilla; gentle oak spice gives shape to the smoke-free profile. The long finish moves from sweet honey tones to dry oak and a delicate spice note.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Fine nuances of lemon posset and dried flowers merge with the deep scent of dense honeycomb. A subtle hint of sherry lends the bouquet a refined depth.
Taste: The texture impresses with creamy vanilla and liquid honey meeting lively citrus accents. Fine sherry spice and elegant oak notes give the malt a harmoniously balanced structure.
Finish: The finish lingers expressively with lasting honeyed sweetness that gradually gives way to a dry yet delicate oak spice.
