This Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in a unique blend of Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, and Port casks, distinguished by its ruby-red color. The latest release combines classic Islay peat smoke with spicy notes and oak aromas, culminating in a long, warming finish. Maturation in Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, and Port casks imparts a pronounced fruitiness and spice that harmonizes perfectly with Islay's peaty character. This limited edition is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and retains its natural color.

Original Tasting Notes: Lusciously rich with notes of candied orange peel, stewed red berries, and almonds, shaped by maturation in Oloroso Sherry, Pedro Ximénez, and ruby port casks. Earthy peat waves through layers of treacle, dark fruit, and gentle char. The finish is long and warming, with a lingering rounded sweetness.

Mortlach 1989 Hunter Laing Old & Rare – 52,9%

This 33-year-old Mortlach matured in a refill butt from 1989 to 2022 before being bottled by Hunter Laing for their Old & Rare series. The cask yielded 311 bottles at 52.9% ABV.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Dense, earthy, stewed red fruits.
Taste: Smoked ham, tobacco, prunes, figs.
Finish: Lingers on sherry oak tannins.

The distillery Arran is located on the head of an island that owns the same name and lays between the western coast of Scotland and the peninsula Kintryre. The island Arran has good access from Glasgow by car and ferry. The distillery started producing in 1995 on time delay, because of a pair of Golden Eagles that hatched right where the distillery was supposed to be build. It was built by Harold Currie, who had been very successful in the whisky industrie and even was director of Chevas. With building the distillery a big dream for him came true.

The distillery was founded in 1798. It had a moved history with many close-downs and therefore it had different names as Tobermory and Ledaig. It is located in the Highlands, in Tobermory on the island Mull. Today the distillery produces two Single Malts: The unpeated Tobermory and the peated Ledaig.

Glengoyne what means as much as ‘valley of the arrow’ is located next to the border between the Lowlands and the Highlands. It started producing in 1837. The sleek distillery is owned by Ian McLeod Distillers Ltd and has brilliant tours for visitors.
