Duncan Taylor has its roots in Glasgow, where the company originally operated as a trader and broker of Scotch whisky casks within the industry.

For decades, the company has been acquiring casks from Scottish distilleries and now owns one of the largest private collections of vintage and rare Scotch whisky casks.

In 2002, Duncan Taylor moved its headquarters to Huntly on the edge of Speyside, Scotland’s largest whisky region, where it has its own facilities for cask storage, bottling, a cooperage and, very soon, its own distillery.

The distillery is located north of Port Askaig on the isle Islay directly at the kyle of Islay. From the distillery you have a wonderful view of the isle Jura. It was built in 1846 and since 1974 it has a completely new stillhouse with six stills. The specially made casks (the size of about an eighth of a standard sherry butt) ensure plenty of wood contact - and wonderfully dark fruity, spicy profiles.

This 5 year old Dailuaine was finished in a Pedro Ximenez cask and has a cask strength of 55.8%. It is a pleasantly fruity, slightly sweet whisky.

Port Dundas is a Whisky Distillery that was in Glasgow and is shut down since 2010. There used to be two distilleries with that name that produced Malt Whisky unti 1845. 1877 those distilleries were merged together.

The distillery is located in the Highlands at the southern riverside of the River Teith not far away from the city Doune. In 1784 it was built as a cotton mill and in 1965/66 reconstructed as a distillery with four stills. Since 1990 Deanston is obtainable as Single Malt and owned by a south american investment company.
