The Thompson brothers from Dornoch are renowned in the industry for their keen eye for exceptional casks. For this limited edition, they selected a peated single malt from an undisclosed Highland distillery. The spirit spent 18 years maturing in Oloroso hogsheads sourced directly from Jerez. This maturation in the slightly smaller hogsheads facilitated an intense interaction between the wood and the smoky spirit, resulting in a complex character that has been bottled at natural color and without chill-filtration.

In the glass, the whisky presents a deep, inviting mahogany hue that hints at the intensity of the sherry influence. On the nose, a bouquet of dried dates, raisins, and candied orange peel unfolds, subtly underscored by dark chocolate and a pinch of cinnamon. The palate reveals a full-bodied structure: a harmonious balance of honey-sweet dried fruits and earthy smoke, accompanied by spicy oak and roasted hazelnuts. The finish is long-lasting, leaving behind nutty sherry notes and delicate orange zest.

Longrow 23 Years Cadenhead´s – 43,7%

The distillery was founded in 1824 by John Beith & Co and is located in Campbeltown. Single buildings still are existing and still are used by the Springbank distillery today. A twice peated whisky is released under the name Longrow since 1985. Additional the three times peated whisky with the name Hazelburn is released as well.

Who doesn't love to toast to spring? Anna Buchholz, Head of Distilling at Hercynian Distilling Co., presents the perfect dram for the occasion – exclusively for Kirsch customers. Her Heartgow Spring 2026 combines sweet raisins and dried fruits with juicy peach and orange. A hint of espresso and toffee provides a framework for the silky single malt reminiscent of filled chocolate eggs. Limited to 384 bottles, this seasonal whisky matured intensively in first-fill hogsheads, quarter casks, and small octaves that previously held Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry.

Cotswolds 2016 Oloroso Single Cask – 59.9%

Unspoilt nature, sleepy cottages next to cosy pubs and tea rooms - the Cotswolds are considered one of the most beautiful regions in England. Amidst the hilly picture-postcard idyll lies the Cotswolds Distillery, founded in 2014 in the small village of Shipston-on-Stour as the region's first fully comprehensive distillery. Inspired by the stunning landscape, the distillery produces all-natural whisky from local, floor-malted barley.

Exclusively for Kirsch Import's customers, the Cotswolds Distillery allowed its fruity-complex raw spirit a particularly aromatic maturation period. The Cotswolds 2016/2022 matured in a Spanish oak hogshead, pre-aged with dry, nutty Oloroso-type sherry. The enticingly dark single cask bottling flowed at 59.9% vol. Cask Strength directly from the cask into a total of 297 bottles.

The Danes from Give have been running their distillery since 2009. Until 2014 they used Scottish malt, since 2015 only local ingredients.

Caskhound has managed to secure a cask from this distillery. Only the greats SMWS and Berry Bros & Rudd have managed this before. Thus, they are only the third UA that can claim to bring a bottling of this distillery to the market. But what makes the distillery so special that they have bought a cask from this still small and by many still unnoticed distillery? Well, the Danes not only know how to distil good whisky, they are also the first to smoke their malt over nettle smoke. The owner knows this method from his homeland of Funen, where cheese, for example, is smoked in this way. So what we have here is a malt that is not peated but burnt. If that's not madness?

The malt Caskhound chose was distilled in 2014 and spent 7 years in a 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Cask.

The bottling comes in a 0.5 litre bottle, just like the OA bottlings from Fary Lochan. The cask yielded 430 bottles and we have 60.3%vol cask strength.
