Aberfeldy distillery was founded in 1896 by whisky dealers John Dewar & Sons. It is located on the River Tay on the edge of the village of the same name and belongs to the region of the southern Highlands. This connoisseur’s bottling from the Exceptional Cask Series was selected by Malt Master Stephanie Macleod. This Aberfeldy 18 y. o. is indeed exceptional: After initial maturation in bourbon casks, the Highlanders matured the single malt for an additional 22 months in sherry casks, to which it owes its promising mahogany tone.
