What are four engineers, a teacher, a cook, a butcher, a pilot and a doctor? The founding team of the Danish Stauning distillery! In 2005 the friends decided to put a vision into practice: single malt based on the model of peaty whisky from the island of Islay. Despite little whisky experience, it was quickly followed by great praise: “If you continue like this, it could become one of the best smoky whiskys in the world,” said whisky legend Jim Murray when he tried the New Make in 2006.<\/p>\n
The distillers from Ringk\u00f8bing Fjord put Danish whisky on the map and wrote a success story with it. Single malt, malted rye whisky and Co. from Stauning are based exclusively on high-quality ingredients from the region and a variety of different barrels. Even the standard range of the Danes is therefore very diverse. Stauning brings even more variety into play with single cask bottlings.<\/p>\n
