The distillery, whose name means \u201cmountain slope\u201d or \u201cgarden on a slope,\u201d is located a few miles north of Dunrobin Castle near the village of Brora and is thus part of the Northern Highlands region. It was built in 1967 right next to another distillery, which was subsequently renamed Brora after both distilleries had temporarily operated under the same name.
