It is located on the island Islay in Port Charlotte. 1852 the distillery was taken over by Thomas Pattinson and got shut down in the same year. Although there were plans in 2008 to reopen the distillery by Bruichladdich, they were not realised. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove intertwine with baked apples and pears drizzled with honey. Peat remains a constant, powerful presence, weaving through the oak and spice notes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taste:<\/strong> Toasted oak, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, and a hint of sweet smoke. Apple and pear compote balances the richness of the oak.
