The Glengyle Distillery was founded in 1872 in Campeltown, but it was closed down after World War I. In 2000 the owners of the Springbank Destillerie founded Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd. The old distillery was completely rehabilitated. Since 2004 Glengyle is producing Whisky again, which was the first reopening of a Distillery in Campeltown for the last 125 years. The name “Glengyle” may not be used for the produced whisky, which is why it is called “Kilkerran”.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Notes of butterscotch and custard creams lead, with apple butter and white miso. Cream sponge and poached pear sweetness follows.

Palate: There is a creaminess on the palate in notes of shortbread crust and smooth caramel chocolate, with notes of gooseberries, white grapes, cigar box smoke and sandalwood developing.

Finish: Hints of green peppercorn and honeydew melon emerge in the finish, alongside an ashy note.

[2502,2414,2204,2276,2170

post-179710","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-campbeltown-en","product_cat-glengyle-en","product_cat-scotland-en","product_cat-single-malt-en","product_cat-whisky-en","pa_bottling_date-2025-en","pa_cask_type-bourbon-en","pa_country-schottland-en-2","pa_destillation_age-8-en","pa_destillation_date-keine-angabe-en-2","pa_region-campeltown-en","pa_whisky_bottler-destillen-original-abfuellung-en","pa_whisky_bottler_series-keine-angabe-en-2","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple
