The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. \nFounder Anthony Wills selected a combination of 23 Oloroso sherry butts. An astonishing 20 casks of these are first fill, with a further 3 casks second fill.
