The distillery was opened by Anthony Wills in 2005. It was the first new-opening of a distillery on Islay after a pause of 125 years. It is located in the northwestern part of the island on a former farmer area and is the only distillery on Islay that isn’t located next to the sea. It also is the only distillery on Islay which may call itself ‘100% Islay’, using all the ingredients and doing every producing step on the island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
After the great success of the Machir Bay in Cask Strength, Kilchoman is now presenting the Kilchoman Sanaig ‘Dark Batch’ in cask strength for the first time. Like the classic Sanaig, the Sanaig Cask Strength matured primarily in Oloroso sherry casks, but was bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.8% ABV. The result: rich peat smoke that harmonizes with aromas of citrus fruits, mixed spices and dark chocolate. A long-awaited edition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":166639,"template":"","meta":[],"product_brand":[],"product_cat":[2258,2508,2436,10242,2204,2276,2170],"product_tag":[],"class_list":["post-166748","product","type-product","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","product_cat-distilleries-en","product_cat-islay-en","product_cat-kilchoman-en","product_cat-regions","product_cat-scotland-en","product_cat-single-malt-en","product_cat-whisky-en","pa_bottling_date-2024-en","pa_cask_type-bourbon-cask-en","pa_cask_type-sherry-cask-en","pa_country-schottland-en-2","pa_destillation_age-keine-angabe-en-2","pa_destillation_date-keine-angabe-en-2","pa_region-islay-en","pa_whisky_bottler-destillen-original-abfuellung-en","pa_whisky_bottler_series-keine-angabe-en-2","first","instock","taxable","shipping-taxable","purchasable","product-type-simple"],"yoast_head":"\n
