Bruichladdich 2007 Eldvatten “Lion” – 56,9%

An 18-year-old Bruichladdich from 2007, matured in a classic bourbon barrel. This type of cask brings out the pure DNA of the distillery: vanilla, citrus, light fruits, maritime freshness – an elegant, clear and precise Bruichladdich, just as connoisseurs love it. At 56.9% ABV, it is intense but balanced.
The lion motif stands for courage, dominance and regal presence – perfect for a whisky that exudes confidence with its maturity and clarity.

Bruichladdich 2009 Eldvatten “Rhino” – 58,3%

This bottling dates from 2009 and matured for a full 16 years in a rare Rivesaltes hogshead. Rivesaltes is a traditional, sweet French dessert wine from Roussillon – known for its aromas of honey, dried fruit, nuts, and warm spices. Such a cask imparts a deep, fruit-forward complexity to the Bruichladdich, perfectly complementing the distillery's maritime character. At 58.3% ABV, this single malt comes in its natural strength – powerful, aromatic, and untamed.

The rhinoceros on the label symbolizes precisely that: strength, earthiness, and a certain majestic wildness. A whisky that leaves a lasting impression.

Aberlour 2006 Eldvatten – 49,3%

There already existed a distillery named Aberlour in 1826. Nevertheless on the bottles the year 1897 is stated as founding year of the distillery. It is located in the heart of the Speyside next to the Ben Rinnes River. Since 1974 the distillery is owned by the concern Pernod Ricard and is guided by their subsidiary. Since 1973 Aberlour owns four stills.

Smögen 2012 Eldvatten – 63,0%

Sweden only moved onto the whisky map after Mackmyra was founded in the late 1990s. With Smögen Whisky, the young whisky nation has another landmark. The distillery is named after a Swedish picture-perfect fishing village in the Skagerrak. However, it owes its popularity among connoisseurs in and outside Sweden to its intensely smoky small batch single malts, which are now also available in Germany.

The whiskys are handcrafted down to the last drop. The hands belong to the founder, lawyer, whisky enthusiast and author Pär Caldenby, who was able to separate the tailings from the heart of a distillate at Smögen Whisky for the first time in August 2010. He built his craft distillery from scratch in the outbuildings of a former farm. These house, among other things, two small copper pot stills (one only holds 900 liters), bourbon and sherry casks as well as a “worm tub condenser” – a cooling system that has become rare, which makes the raw spirit heavier and fuller.

In general, the following applies to Smögens single malts: They are powerful, distinctive drops with a clear smoky note, maritime echoes and malty sweetness. For Heavily Peated Swedish Single Malts in the same peat weight class as Caol Ila or Ballechin, Caldenby imports peat malt from Scotland.

Glenlossie 2008 Eldvatten – 52,0%

Glenlossie was built in 1876 by John Duff in the Speyside in Birnie near to Elgin. Next to it there is the Mannochmore Distillery, which also uses the water from the Bardon Burn in the Mannochmore Hills.

The distillery Bruichladdich, which means as much as ‘corner of the beach’ is the most essential distillery generally. It was built 1881 by the Harley Brothers. After the distillery was shut down for a period of time there was proclaimed on the 20th of December 2000 that it would be re-opened again. Already in May 2001 there came the first newmake out of the stills. The success of the distillery is closely connected with the activities of one of the most significant men in the whisky industry whose name is Jim McEwan. In 2012 the distillery once again changed its owner for 58 Million pounds and is now owned by Remy Cointreau.

Blended Malt 2000 Eldvatten – 51,4%

This 20 year old blended malt from a STR Barrique was bottled on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Swedish bottler Eld Vatten. A total of 215 bottles were filled with 51.4%.
