A total of 248 bottles were produced at 55.1% ABV after the whisky matured in PX sherry hogshead number 45231.

The aroma is captivating, with notes of dried fruit, a syrupy sweetness, dark chocolate, and a hint of spice.

]]> In the center of the Speyside at the northern slope of the same-named mountain at the height of the 250 meters the distillery Benrinnes, which was named Lyne of Ruthrie and found in 1835. It has a special character: It owns a wash still that divides the low wines. First the low wines are piped into the spirit still number two before they get to spirit number one. Their distillate is burnt a second time then, therefore there is practiced a very special kind of three time distillation. The water that is used comes from Scurrn and Rowentree Burns.

]]> The Bunnahabhain distillery is located at the kyle of Islay at the edge of the island in the northeast and lays that isolated, that there had to be constructed a long and curvy street down to the sea as it was built in 1881.The water that is used has its origin in an underground spring from the river Margadale and therefore it comes from Islay it has a relatively low concentration of peat. Until 2003 it was owned by an descendant of the founder, Highland Distillers. Nowadays it is owned by Burn Stewart Distillers.

]]> Blair Athol is situated at the southern end of Pitlochry and is part of the Highlands. It was rebuilt in 1949 on the same site where a distillery had stood since 1798. Their single malt is the heart of the “Bells” blend.
Alliances and joint efforts meet ruthless ambition and tough power struggles: It’s like Macbeth in the Scotch whisky industry, Lexi Livingstone Burgess realised, laying the foundation for the dramaturgy of an impressive collection of whiskies. Together with Elixir Distillers, the founder of Livingstone and Burgess Studio, known for creative design work in the field of Scotch, cast the fantastic characters of Shakespeare’s tragedy with whiskies.
From old single casks to expressive malt and grain whiskies and rarities from closed distilleries, the Macbeth Collection will bring a total of 42 individual characters to the whisky stage.
Each of the limited edition bottlings will be illustrated with the corresponding character by established artist Sir Quentin Blake, and will feature notes that whisky writer Dave Broom has wrapped in lyrical prose.
The Macbeth Collection consists of six series: The Leads (5 majestic malts), The Thanes (12 noble malts), The Ghosts (6 “ghost distilleries”), The Witches (3 malts and a blend), The Murderers (4 island malts) and The Household (10 characterful whiskies). The whiskies in the series will be released blended in three annual acts until 2025.

]]> The name of the distillery means as much as ‘green valley’ or ‘green grassland’. It is located in the Speyside at the southern shore of the Spey and was founded in 1851 by William Mackenzie. The whisky was completely used for producing blends, mainly for Johnny Walker. Since 1960 the distillery has six instead of four stills.

As part of the trail, only whiskies with outstanding characteristics are bottled. Or chivalrous, as in the current Knights series. The four single casks show their best side in keeping with their status: neither chill-filtered nor coloured, but instead eye-catching and full of strength and flavour.
Single grain from Strathclyde is so popular with Scotland's whisky blenders that it is rarely found as an independent bottling in a single cask. Like the Strathclyde 1987/2022, this 35-year-old single grain from Glasgow develops delicious notes of orange jelly, buttermilk and whipped cream alongside vanilla cream and cake batter.

]]> The distillery was founded in 1965 and is located at the compound of a former printing house in the Highlands. It lays in an industry area of Alexandria at the southern edge of the Loch Lomond. The distillery is the only distillery that can offer a Single Blend, because there is a grain distillery at the compound as well.

]]> The Craigellachie distillery is in Speyside. Once founded by Peter Mackie, among others, the distillery, which was built in 1891, is now owned by the Bacardi Martini Group. During the renovation in 1964 the distillery was expanded to 4 stills. The water no longer comes from the Hill of Little Conval as it used to, but from Blue Hill. During production, the steam is cooled down by so-called “worm tubs” – spiral-shaped copper tubes. Due to this process, the new make has little contact with copper during production, which creates a strong taste.
