Ben Nevis

The distillery of the same name is located at the foot of Scotland's highest mountain, the Ben Nevis in the western Highlands near Fort William. It was built in 1825 by John McDonald, a descendant of the Lord of the Isles. Production was discontinued between 1984 and 1990, and after Nikka took over in 1989, production resumed one year later. The water for the Ben Nevis comes from the Allt A Mhullin Burn.
