The maturation of the five-malt distillate takes place in 4 different barrels. In addition to the Select and Reserve New American Oak barrels, ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximénez barrels are used. This combination makes the flavour profile unusually fruity. Aromas of kiwi, sultanas, stewed yellow fruits are accompanied by sweet biscuits. This composition can already be perceived in the nose. Banana pancakes and oatmeal-raisin biscuits appear before the inner eye.

  • Select New American Oak casks
  • Reserve New American Oak casks
  • Ex-Oloroso casks
  • Ex-Pedro Ximenez casks

The Westland distillery is located in Seattle, Washington USA. They have consciously decided against the production of bourbon, but for the category of American Single Malt Whiskey. Thus, they founded and lead the ASMW Commission, to which 110 distilleries now belong.
Since its founding in January 2010, the distillery has placed the highest value on quality. Every single malt is made from 100% malted barley. The distillate is only distilled up to 80% vol. Only casks with a maximum capacity of 700 litres are used for maturation.
