The Tomintoul 2006/2021 was allowed a full 15 years in barrique barrels, which had previously been filled with the heavy Amarone red wine made from air-dried grapes. The result: soft, spicy, wonderful.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Buttered honey cake, cherries, caramelised cane sugar and roasted almonds, and finally fine herbs.

Palate: Creamy and soft with honey cake, shortbread and caramelised cane sugar. In addition – now more present – herbs and a hint of cherries.

Finish: Decreasing sweetness, honey and herbs.

The distillery was founded in 1964 and is named like the highest-located village of Scotland. It is located in an romantic area near Ballindaloch. The water the distillery uses comes from the Ballantruan Spring. Most part of the produced whisky is used for making Blends, especially the White & Mackay.
