Strathmill 2011 Cask Noir -59.8%

This 11-year-old Strathmill has been bottled for the new series called “Cask Noir Productions” by Brave New Spirits. Each whisky in this series is available as a single cask at cask strength, unfiltered and uncoloured. Maturation takes place in a so-called STR White Wine Barrique, which is a peeled and burnt-out cask in which white wine has previously been aged. The resulting aroma can best be subsumed under the terms prickly pear, white pepper and lemons. In general, this whisky combines floral notes with a balanced spiciness.
