Turntable Blend “Unplugged” – 46%

Turntable brings together the powerful worlds of whisky and music – and gives strong blended whisky a strong voice. With Unplugged, the Glasgow-based blending house is now bringing a straightforward, accessible whisky to the stage that will resonate with connoisseurs and newcomers alike. The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) honoured the blended Scotch with 92 points.

Unplugged may complement the standard range, but with a malt content of over 80 per cent, it is anything but a standard blend. The majority of the composition consists of Speyside distillates from Linkwood, Ballindalloch and Benrinnes, among others, which are matured in first and second-fill bourbon casks, complemented by a touch of Ledaig peated whisky from the west coast island of Mull. A proportion of grain whisky from sherry casks rounds off the blended Scotch.

Bottled at an ideal drinking strength of 46% vol. and neither coloured nor chill-filtered, Unplugged is a light yet harmonious experience of orchard fruits, vanilla, delicate floral undertones and faint hints of peat smoke.
