Torabhaig Taigh – 46%

Taigh – Torabhaig’s first permanently available core expression.
In Scottish Gaelic, ‘Taigh’ means ‘house’. But for Torabhaig, it means home – a reflection of the distillery, the landscape and the people who breathe life into Torabhaig. Taigh is the heart of Torabhaig, and like any good home, it is meant to be shared.

At Torabhaig, they always favour first-fill bourbon casks as the perfect partners for their house style, which they call ‘Smoke with Taste’ – an elegant, delicate and balanced expression of peat. This allows notes of vanilla, sweet spice and honey to emerge, harmonising beautifully with the gentle smoke. They also use some refill bourbon casks to let the natural distillery character shine through, and a touch of influence from Madeira casks lends Torabhaig Taigh a soft roundness.

The design for this bottling was created by local artist Aileen Grant.
With her deep understanding of the unique landscape of the Hebrides, she impressively brings to life the distinctive spirit of the distillery and its rugged surroundings. She lovingly handcrafted this special piece in her own home – a true work of passion and authenticity that makes the soul of the Hebrides palpable.
