Hearach Oloroso Release – 46%

For the second bottling, which now expands the Isle of Harris Distillery range, first-class Oloroso Sherry Butts were sourced from the renowned family-run Bodega José y Miguel Martin in Andalusia, the quality of which was confirmed in 2015 by visits to the bodega. First-class sherry matured in these barrels before they were filled with Harris New Make Spirit. Continuous maturation in these fine barrels gives the HEARACH Single Malt a distinct depth, richness and complexity – the perfect complement to the light peatiness of the distillate.

The original tasting notes:
“First, winter aromas of cinnamon and orange peel as well as cloves emerge, reminiscent of the Christmas season. Green notes of herbs paired with white chocolate are added. On the palate you can taste walnut and chimney smoke as well as a hint of thyme followed by oranges. Vanilla pods and exotic spices lead to a long finish with delicate leather and liquorice notes.”
