Old St. Croix is the name given by Danish pharmacist and adventurer Albert Heinrich Riise to the spirits he brought from the Caribbean to the world 150 years ago – as a tribute to the island of St. Croix, famous for its sugar cane cultivation.

Old St. Croix XO Reserve – Legacy is the first blend to bear the traditional brand name. It is available as a limited edition and pays tribute to the original recipe and historic trademark that will adorn all our products in the future.

Distinct umami notes of oak, rich tobacco, and aged leather. The sweetness is reminiscent of caramelized figs and glazed citrus peel.

Albert Heinrich Riise was a Danish pharmacist and botanist. He lived from 1810 to 1882.

He discovered rum in the West Indies, where he worked as a pharmacist. He exported to several continents and was also very successful in his home country. Today, the brand is marketed by Dansk-Vestindisk Rom Kompagni. The name Old St. Croix is ​​a tribute to the fertile island of the same name.
